Shelly | Rose Hill Bridal Portraits

One of my favorite parts of my job is photographing engagement and bridal portraits. I love getting to know my clients more, and the family members they bring along. It was during Shelly's bridal portraits that I got to meet her mom, Angie, and her sister, Lindsay. Because of the strong relationship built during this shoot, the wedding was a breeze, and I was able to capture authentic smiles, real laughter, and images that truly tell the story of their family. I have fallen deeply in love with Shelly's family, and it's a privilege to share these images with you.

Pray for Katelyn

Thursday, May 16, 2013 Posted in Bridal Portraits

A couple of days ago, I posted Katelyn Joyner's lovely bridal portraits. Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to photograph her wedding, because I was already booked. So, as I was browsing through her facebook page the other day, I noticed a lot of people praying for Katelyn and changing their profile pic to a purple ribbon. I then texted her sister-in-law, one of my previous bride's, and Caroline filled me in on Katelyn's tragic news. One day before Katelyn's wedding the doctors told her she had a cancerous tumor on her pancreas. When I read that, my heart sank. I could not imagine receiving such life altering news the day before I walked down the aisle.

She went into surgery yesterday morning. I still don't know all the details, but I do know that the doctors should know more now that they have surveyed the area. Katelyn is now recovering at Vidant Medical Center. I believe she will be in the hospital for 7-14 days to recover. In the meantime, I have felt such a weight of compassion over Katelyn and her new husband, Adam. I remember how tough it was for Shane and I to handle our bills after returning from our honeymoon. For Katelyn and Adam to now add all of that, with piles of doctors bills....well that would be too much.

All of Katelyn and Adam's friends and family are selling purple armbands for $5 to help them cover their hospital bills. Sweet Caroline has set up Paypal account so that I can share it with my friends, family, and followers. If you would like to donate $1, $5, $ Katelyn and Adam, please use the donation link below. Thank you for taking time to read about Katelyn's story. More importantly than money, they need prayers. There are still a lot of unknowns, and I know from personal experience that the peace of God can surpass all understanding. So, before you continue on with the rest of your day, I know Katelyn and Adam would appreciate your prayers. Thanks.
