If you've perused my site, you may notice that I mainly photograph weddings. But, Andy reached out to me a few months ago and asked me to photograph their maternity session, and since I photographed their wedding several years ago, I didn't even have to think about it...I knew I was in! It was such a joy to reconnect with my clients. Even though it's been years since I photographed their wedding, it felt like it was just yesterday. Oh, and the crazy thing is that Taylor went into labor after this shoot!!
The truth is, when you plan your wedding day, you never envision a hurricane. But those where the cards we were dealt, and I've learned that weather can either be an obstacle or an opportunity, and boy did we have an amazing opportunity to capture gorgeous images for Hannah and Jared. Though Hurricane Matthew was the uninvited guest for this Lake Gaston Wedding, we took the circumstance with joy, and Hannah and Jared were incredible to work with. I mean...scroll down and see how they braved the weather for outdoor shots!! Plus, they through the most epic Hurricane dance part of ALL TIME!!
Guys, I just entered into a whole new arena of photography that brings me joy! I don't know why I haven't thought of it before, but recently, I photographed Megan & Joe's 1 year anniversary, and I'm head-over-heels in love with photographing anniversary sessions. It was so great spending the afternoon with my clients...catching up on love and life. There was a completely different feel to an anniversary session as opposed to an engagement session. Engagement sessions are so much fun because they are full of new emotions. At an engagement session, it's normally the first time a couple has been professionally photographed. A lot of times, it's the first time I've met my clients. There's so much nervous excitement happening, and I thrive in making my clients feel comfortable and beautiful. But, an anniversary session is totally different. By the time we're there, our relationship is full of trust; it's comfortable and familiar. There's no agenda other than to celebrate another year of love and marriage.
Y'all, I could go on and on about how much I love anniversary sessions. Seriously, whether I've photographed your wedding or not, or even if you're one of my clients with your 6th wedding anniversary and your 3rd child on the way...it would be my greatest honor to photograph you again.
